SHOP CAPABILITIES • IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION SCOPE
In-house Fabrication and Wiring
The core of Sign Cabinets Inc. is practical sign fabrication performed by experienced people who understand how the product will be built. In-house capabilities include CNC routing, cutting and mitering aluminum profiles, welding, sheet-metal bending and forming, face cutting, routing aluminum faces, channel-letter fabrication, electrical assembly and wiring, limited computer-aided layout, inspection, power-up testing, packaging, skidding, and crating.
WHOLESALE TRADE RESPONSIBILITY LINE
Sign Cabinets Inc. focuses on wholesale sign manufacturing for the sign trade. Customers normally handle graphics, permitting, installation, site engineering, field electrical hookup, and local code requirements unless a written exception applies.

SHOP FLOOR FABRICATION
High-Tolerance CNC Aluminum Routing
Sign cabinet manufacturing
Sign cabinet manufacturing begins with the customer’s specifications: dimensions, depth, single-face or double-face layout, illumination, face type, finish, mounting application, service access, electrical exit, switch location, quantity, and shipping or pickup plan. Cabinets may be built for wall-mounted, pole-mounted, monument, and pylon applications, including slide-access and hinged-access systems where appropriate.
Channel letter manufacturing
Channel letter manufacturing includes confirmed front-lit channel letters, reverse-lit or halo-lit channel letters, raceway-mounted letters, and direct-mounted letters. Acrylic is the preferred channel-letter face material because it holds color better. For buyers comparing mounting methods, the channel letter types and mounting options page explains common choices.
EXTRUSION ARCHITECTURE & FINISH TRANSPARENCY
SCI-designed Profiles and Sourced Finishes
Clear, honest specifications protect both parties. Sign Cabinets Inc. provides factual detail regarding our extruded profiles and outsourced finishing processes.
Proprietary Aluminum Profile Systems
Sign Cabinets Inc. designed and controls the heavy-duty aluminum profile systems used for its slide cabinets, hinged cabinets, and raceways. An aluminum extruder in Indiana produces the profiles for SCI and owns or maintains the physical tooling. Sign Cabinets Inc. does not extrude aluminum in house or claim that the profile designs are patented.
Finish Options & RAL Color Communication
Normal finish options are mill or raw aluminum and outsourced powder coating. Powder coating is not performed in house. RAL is the preferred color system for powder-coat selection, ensuring clean communication and precise color matching for sign companies.
ELECTRICAL TESTING & SITE HOOKUP BOUNDARIES
Electrical Assembly, Inspection, and Testing
For finished illuminated cabinets and channel letters, electrical work is assembled and wired in house. Sign Cabinets Inc. works with the customer on power exit, connection fitting or exterior box, connection location, and switch type. Finished electrical products are delivered ready for qualified field hookup.
01
Pre-Shipment Power-Up
Electrical sign testing is part of the quality process. Finished electrical products are powered before they leave the shop to ensure flawless illumination and module performance.
02
Component Verification
Inspection practices include verification and recordkeeping for UL Listed electrical components where applicable, ensuring internal compliance with documented standards.
03
Field Hookup Boundary
The customer and installer remain responsible for field power, mounting, site conditions, local code compliance, municipal permitting, and final primary electrical hookup.
UL CERTIFICATION • COMPLIANCE RULES
UL Program and Label Eligibility
Sign Cabinets Inc. has an active UL sign-manufacturing program, with ongoing inspections tied to active manufacturing. Eligible finished electrical products are wired in house with appropriate UL Listed components, inspected, tested, documented, and labeled through the company’s program when the product configuration qualifies.
Configuration Eligibility & Customer-Wired Kit Policy
UL label eligibility varies by product configuration and current program scope. Not every product, kit, component, or configuration is UL Listed. A customer-wired cabinet kit cannot receive a Sign Cabinets Inc. UL label because SCI must wire and inspect the eligible finished electrical product in house under its process. Sign Cabinets Inc. operates an active UL sign-manufacturing program for eligible finished electrical products, subject to current documentation and product eligibility. Product claims remain limited to current UL program documentation and configuration eligibility.
PRODUCTION AUDITING • PRACTICAL SHOP CHECKPOINTS
Quality Checkpoints and Records
Quality control is built around practical shop checkpoints rather than inflated scale claims. Confirmed practices include review of final specifications before production, signed checkpoints during manufacturing, verification and recordkeeping for UL Listed electrical components, power-up testing of finished electrical products, strain-relief and fitting practices where required, and packaging appropriate to the shipping method.
Spec Review Before Production
Comprehensive pre-fabrication verification of all dimensions, customer artwork, return depths, and power exit points.
Internal Shop Checkpoints
Accountability tracking at each critical stage of cutting, mitering, welding, assembly, and electrical installation.
UL Component Recordkeeping
Full traceability and records maintained for all UL Listed power supplies, LED wire modules, and pass-through fittings.
Power-Up Verification
100% electrical bench testing before departure, verifying clean illumination, zero flicker, and watertight integrity.
Strain-Relief & Fittings
Inspection of wire routing, mechanical strain relief, and exterior connection fittings to prevent job-site failures.
Packaging for Transit
Matching protective packaging to the transport mode, whether parcel packaging, skidding, or custom timber crating.
FREIGHT LOGISTICS • NATIONWIDE DELIVERY PREPARATION
Packaging and Fulfillment Handoff
Finished products are prepared for pickup, Sign Cabinets Inc. delivery, parcel shipment, or freight depending on size, destination, and practical handling requirements. Smaller items may ship by UPS or FedEx. Larger products may be skidded, crated, delivered by common carrier, or handled by SCI delivery when practical.

Heavy-Duty Custom Timber Crating
Every cabinet and channel letter order is secured with heavy-duty timber crating and internal blocking to prevent road damage.
Pickup & SCI Regional Delivery
Customer shop pickup at our Muskegon Heights facility or scheduled delivery within our regional service area when practical for large orders.
Parcel & Common Carrier Freight
Smaller components ship via UPS or FedEx. Full-scale signs and cabinets travel via skidded common carrier freight across the United States.
