Front-Lit Channel Letters
Front lit channel letters are illuminated letters where the face lights forward toward the viewer. Acrylic is the preferred face material. Vinyl may sometimes be applied, but solid acrylic is preferred because it holds color better than vinyl in many applications.
These LED channel letters are a strong fit when the end customer wants clear nighttime visibility and a familiar illuminated look. Sign Cabinets Inc. fabricates the letters and electrical assembly; the sign company or qualified installer handles site conditions, mounting, permitting, and field electrical hookup.
Reverse-Lit Channel Letters
Reverse-lit channel letters are also commonly called halo-lit channel letters. Instead of lighting only the front face, illumination is reflecting off the back of the face of the letters to create a subtle, high-end glow on the wall or mounting surface. These are often selected when the design calls for a dimensional or refined appearance.
Because wall color, standoff depth, mounting surface, and installation conditions affect the final appearance, the sign company remains responsible for site-specific design decisions, installation, and field conditions. Sign Cabinets Inc. focuses on fabricating the letters to the approved project specifications.
Raceway or Direct Mount
Channel letters can be fabricated for raceway-mounted or non-raceway/direct-mounted applications. Raceway-mounted letters place the letters on a raceway, which can simplify field wiring and reduce the number of wall penetrations depending on the project. Direct-mounted letters are supplied when the sign company plans to mount letters individually.

Custom Channel Letters Within Practical Limits
Custom channel letters can include selected logos and shapes when they fit practical routing, forming, material, and production limits. Sign Cabinets Inc. can fabricate certain logo elements and non-letter forms, but this page should not be read as a promise of unlimited custom sign fabrication. Very large capsule-style shapes may require polycarbonate and a custom slide-in retainer, subject to shop review.
Raceway Mounted Channel Letters
For best results, submit vector artwork and clear dimensions. AI and EPS are the confirmed preferred formats. If your artwork is in another format, contact Sign Cabinets Inc. before submitting.
To keep the offer accurate, Sign Cabinets Inc. does not currently promote frameless or trimless channel letters, edge-lit channel letters, channel-letter kits, general retail sign design and installation, site engineering, wind-load calculations, permitting, or field electrical hookup. Confirmed in-house capabilities include CNC routing, channel-letter fabrication, face cutting, welding, electrical assembly, wiring, inspection, packaging, skidding, and crating. Finished electrical work is powered up before it leaves the shop.
Eligible electrical products are handled through Sign Cabinets Inc.’s active UL sign-manufacturing program, subject to documented product eligibility and current UL scope. UL labeling applies only when Sign Cabinets Inc. wires and inspects an eligible finished product.
